Story guidelines:

FORMAT: Climate stories can come in many forms - written narrative, essay, poem, artwork or photography, voice or video recording, or any other format that feels authentic to you.

CONTENT: Climate stories are personal; what you include in your story is entirely up to you. Below are a few prompts* for your consideration:

-How has climate change impacted your life? Or what changes have you heard about or noticed?
-What changes concern you and your family the most?
-What might you lose to the climate crisis?
-What actions would you like to take to help ensure a livable future for your family?
-What does your vision for a livable future look like? (Here is an article for inspiration!)
-DearTomorrow letter: Think of a person important in your life - your child, a friend, a family member or your future self. Imagine it is 2050 and they receive a message from you written today. Your message shares your thoughts about climate change and your promise to take action to ensure they have a safe and healthy world.

LENGTH: Length will vary from story to story, so there are no strict requirements. As a general rule, we recommend no more than 500 words for written pieces and up to 7 minutes for recorded pieces.

WITH YOUR STORY, PLEASE INCLUDE: A title, the contributor's first and last name (or you may submit anonymously if you choose), photo(s) that fit your piece, and a photo and short bio of the author. For written pieces, please also include references (website links) when applicable.
